day 1 Barcelona

Perhaps the most gay-friendly city in Europe, the Catalan capital offers visitors a rich mix of unique textures, sights and experiences. Lose yourself in the winding, medieval streets of Barrio Gótico.

Marvel at world-renowned architectural treasures like Gaudí’s Park Guëll, as well as striking contemporary creations like Agbar Tower. Show off your latest swimwear on the gay beaches of Barceloneta or Mar Bella. Slip into a local bar to sample the tapas on offer, then hit the Eixample neighbourhood and discover why it’s also called “Gayxample”.

day 2 Villefranche-sur-Mer

Villefranche-sur-Mer is a picturesque seaside town on the French Riviera, nestled between Nice and Monaco, is an absolute gem. Its harbour, one of the deepest in the Mediterranean, has attracted sailors and cruise ships for centuries. Founded in the 13th century by the Counts of Provence, the town was established to protect the coastline.

The colourful old town charms us with narrow streets, historic houses, the impressive 16th-century Citadel Saint-Elme as well as lively cafés and authentic markets.

With its blend of history, natural beauty, and relaxed Riviera atmosphere, Villefranche is an ideal destination for culture lovers and sunseekers alike.

day 3 Portofino

This glamorous fishing village on the Italian Riviera, is renowned for its colourful harbour, surrounded by lush hills and clear blue waters. Portofino’s history dates back to Roman times, when it was known as Portus Delphini, named for the dolphins seen in its waters. During the Middle Ages, the village developed as a small but important fishing and maritime centre.

Visitors can explore the charming piazzetta, lined with cafés, boutiques, and yachts. The historic Castello Brown provides panoramic views. It also is a gateway to beautiful coastal walks and marine reserves ideal for swimming and snorkelling.

Combining natural beauty, luxury, and authentic Italian charm, Portofino is a must-visit Mediterranean destination.

World-renowned as the birthplace of pizza, the city offers a complete sensory experience: from the aroma of freshly brewed coffee to the breathtaking beauty of its bay.

Get lost in the narrow streets of Spaccanapoli, the historic heart of the city.
Admire the Veiled Christ in the Sansevero Chapel, one of the most stunning sculptures of Baroque art.

day 6 Malta

Tuesday

The Archipelago of Malta consists of 19 islands, from which only the larger three, Malta, Gozo and Comino are inhabited. Malta's geographical location in the centre of the Mediterranean, made it an alluring and much-fought-over prize, which shows in the various above- and below-ground defences that can be found everywhere on the islands. The capital, Valletta, built by the Knights of St John, is a harmonious grid. It is one of the largest natural harbours in Europe. Do not miss the sailing into the harbour: exceptional!

Malta is packed with interest, yet is laid-back and easy. Rocky stretches of coast, limestone cliffs with sheltered bays, gold beaches, beautiful towns, crystal clear sea, friendly people and breath-taking views, make this an ideal holiday destination.

The Malta cannon fires daily at 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM from the Saluting Battery in Valletta. These ceremonial firings, which can be viewed for free from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, are performed by uniformed personnel and are a popular tourist attraction.

To gain an initial understanding of Palermo’s unique culture, start by wandering the streets of the old city. The mix of architectural styles reveals the waves of different invaders that conquered this place over the centuries. So do the features of the locals!
